We believe that healthy agriculture is an integral foundation for a successful local economy and a resourceful tool for community development and building meaningful relationships.
Close to home, we’re lucky to be a part of the 1000-acre Serenbe community, a unique village consisting of EarthCraft and LEED-certified homes, restaurants, shops, and galleries. Guided by traditional values and principles of environmental sustainability, Serenbe is a new approach to community development—a belief that quality of life is more than simply a place to live.
The village of Serenbe lies in the heart of 40,000 protected acres of the City of Chattahoochee Hills, our newly formed city complete with creative and environmentally sound development regulations. Chattahoochee Hills is a region overflowing with farmland and has a bourgeoning young farmer population.
Beyond our own city, Serenbe Farms works closely with the city of Palmetto, having formulated the original plan for the Palmetto Community Garden and hosting several free gardening workshops throughout the year. Believing in the motto “Good food for all,” we also donate a portion of our harvests to local food banks and families in need.
We happily support our local food and agriculture related non-profit organizations including Georgia Organics, Slow Food Atlanta, and The Southern Foodways Alliance. Each of these organizations works to draw growers and consumers (aka co-producers) to embrace the health, heritage, and traditions of our land and people through the cultivation and celebration of food.
