We have another new item this week…radishes! I know Mr. Joel, one of our CSA members, will be ecstatic that the radishes are here. Yay! Our bunches are a bit small this week, but it’s a tease for what is to come! Enjoy the tender small roots…
Things at the farm are moving right along, and the weather has been wonderful! We had a chance to break away from the farm yesterday to visit Skip and Cookie Glovers Farm. Wow, what a beautiful place they have. The minute I stepped out of the car I was eagerly greeted with love, from a dog named Boo, and I could see Skip off in the distance on his tractor making his way to welcoming us, and giving us a tour. As we walked around I was really excited, and inspired to see how they had incorporated a lot of artwork into their farm. It’s always nice to see other farms and get ideas, learn, and share what everyone is experiencing. It’s very motivating. Thanks Skip!
In the next week, two of our interns, Ariel, and Sabrina, will be saying goodbye. We will miss them greatly. I’ve really enjoyed being Ariel’s taste tester in the kitchen, and seeing Sabrina’s bright smile. It will be so quiet without them.
Justin has been working very hard to set up permanent lights in the shed where CSA members come for pick-up. Paige has been working hard on crop rotation, and making sure that things are in order and timed perfectly for fall shares, and guiding and teaching us interns on the do’s and don’ts of farming. Thanks Paige, you’re awesome!
